Holy shit!

I can't believe this is just the beta! It's already brilliant.

Addictive and fun, as well as challenging!

I'm putting this on my favorites, I can't wait for the final version to be released.

Just a tip though, the graphics could be a little better. Add a little shading or something and it'll be great.

Again, awesome game. Keep it up!

Hi babe

The stars are how the review rating system works, you choose how many "stars" you want to give the game. For example, I gave it 10.

I-smel responds:

No it's just 10. There's nothing about stars on the site and there never has bin. It wouldn't bother me if it was just one or two people did this, but it's fuckin everyone.

Awesome game!

This is definitely one of my favourite flash games.. it's original, fun to play, and has a lot of playing time. I also enjoyed some of the jokes you threw in.

You had EFG in it.. you damn /b/tard, you >:3

JohnnySedona responds:

It's always nice to get that kind of feedback from other developers. Thanks a lot, Psycho.

Interesting Game..

It was a good idea for a flash game, but had a lot of flaws that really cut on my enjoyment. Such as:

- No interactivity in music. There was no mute button, nor other choices of song. Just an annoying loop.

- The graphics. I saw that you even got a separate person for these, but they were still disappointing. It looked like you got most of the stuff from Google Images, and even then the background seemed bad quality. Also, there could be a different level for each background?

- The controls were annoying. Though you might have meant for it to be hard to get used to, it's best if it's just simple. This might have made a better game if you could only go left, right, up, and down, and no annoying controls (pacman type controls.)

- The HitTest you used was also irritating, I could get hit, or the meteor could hit me, when it was no-where near even touching it.

- The Menu was good but seemed plain, and you could have added a glow effect or an outline to make it more readable when you died, because you couldn't see it properly with the background.

It had potential, and I played it for a few minutes, but it had a lot of flaws and bugs.

theafroguy responds:

All good points, apart from your criticism of the graphics - the space image may have come straight off NASA's (excellent) image bank, but I hand-drew the spaceship and asteroids in Photoshop. So there. Nyah nyah nyah. But no, seriously, we'll consider the rest of your points in a possible sequel. Thanks for your feedback.

Absolutely Brilliant.

While using the same general gameplay to the first Dark Cut, this was like a completely different game. I enjoyed the first Dark Cut a lot, and was only
disappointed with how short it was, and since that came out I have been looking forward to a sequel.

This one was a lot more advanced than the first, with all the different tools, etc, so it was slightly like a puzzle game, which did make it good, but the main bad thing about this new one was the timer. It went too quickly, especially on the first and second level. It was good, and made the game hard, but what would be good is if it would go a bit slower.

This new one was also a lot more realistic than the first, with actual photos, and very gory details. Although I am not disturbed by this sort of thing, I preferred the cartoon style of drawing.

The awards were a good addition to the game, and gave me a reason to replay a couple of the levels after finishing the game.

This one was a lot harder however than the first, I was even stuck at the first level, then it took me an hour to complete the second, but the third and last were easy and I finished them on my first go.

**Spoiler Below If Anyone Hasn't Finished The Game Yet**

I loved at how level 3, when you were nearly done there you were bombed, and how it told you if you wanted to live, you had to perform on yourself. This gave the game a basic storyline, which was great. However, again, the lack of levels was slightly disappointed.

Overall this was a brilliant game, much better than the first, and gave me a good couple of hours of enjoyment playing it. Please say if there is going to be a Dark Cut 3, and if possible respond to this review.

5/5

Yaaaaaaaay!

I've been waiting for a foolproof multiplayer game like this for ages, great game and stuff. Make a sequel!

Great game..

but i was really pissed off that it didn't save it from the last time I played, so I couldn't properly carry on and couldn't be assed to start again. Great game, though.

Its alright...

But it gets boring after you play for about a minute because its too easy.

Very nice to see a sequel.

This one was much better than the first one, with all the new power-ups and enemies, but what i liked most is that the action didnt just take place in one small area, you could 'explore' the area and you could only see parts of the area at a time. Great game.

And what font and/or filters did you use for all the writing? Or did you draw it yourself?

varstudios responds:

Thank you =)

The main font is just called "neon" like the game. I played around with the glow filter to get the effect.
